Last night’s rain widened the leak
from last year’s rain
the ugly damp patch above our bed
spreads from the ceiling to the walls.
It’s been there for two weeks;
the jar of tacks and dirty cutleries
spilled across the kitchen floor
the front door begs for a new hinge
the whole house stinks
our cat brought home another dead gift
It’s salt in the sugar jar and
we’ve not spoken in a while.
