While the world pivots on its axis
I stayed put, wearing my grief
Like a brightly coloured sari

While others sought prayer, meditation and song
I reveled in the solitude of my tears
Aware that time slipped by

While salvation was preached,
damnation found me
it stole my breath away
that beautiful sad thing
mysterious like a cigar whispering its love.
