When our jaws drop,
Tired lungs and little heartbeat
Crippled away in fear
We say, “we hope”

The wait never ends
And the change never comes
We lay bare; expectant
Nothing but misery.

Our faith suddenly become handcuffs,
Denial and deceit.
We wait and wail
Prisoners of hope.
